Seasoned "C" level IT executive with over 25 years of leadership experience who has led large global teams in both Business Facing Application Development spaces and IT Infrastructure. A Highly motivated, creative, innovative, self directed leader with a demonstrated ability to work complex issues and lead cross-functional teams in implementing highly successful solutions that impact the business.
Geoff is currently working as CEO of a San Diego based startup, in a pre-funding stage, Trusted-HIT. T-HIT is a Highly Managed IT services company focused on solving regulatory and security challenges for small to medium sized healthcare & life sciences companies.
At the end of March 2015, Geoff retired from Novartis after 18 years. While there he led global teams of over 600 staff, was responsible for budgets in excess of $650m each year. In his last role there he led the turnaround of Novartis’ internal IT Infrastructure performance by empowering the technical staff, getting 90 new headcount approved, implementing standard global processes and changing the engagement model with major outsource provider. Major incidents dropped from 40 per quarter in 2011 to 1 for the whole of 2014.
In addition to working in IT Infrastructure, from 2007-2011 Geoff led Novartis’ Pharmaceutical Development IT organization. While leading this global team, they implemented new Clinical Trial Management systems, drove Data Standardization, Implemented a companywide Global Safety Surveillance system, and a new clinical trial supply chain system.
Prior to that he worked in San Diego, for the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) as the CIO. Here he experienced the entrepreneurial challenges of a small biotech/engineering company.
Geoff has a clear understanding of the challenges faced in Healthcare IT today, and is equally familiar with the challenges investors will ask of entrepreneurs, as well as the hurdles they will face internally, with key product/direction decisions.
